Governance is…

My employer wants me to come up with names for the organization’s new quarterly newsletter. I suck at naming things (believe me, the name for this blog was a fluke), so I decided to use my Gen Y dorky, web-obsessed, concentration-deficient, “out of the box,” completely obnoxious tech savvy to get some ideas.  I typed “Governance” into Googlism. 1. Oooh fun! I looked up “Humanitarian Aid”.

Apparently, humanitarian aid is a fig leaf. It is also a lottery. It also “is” and “is not”.

  2. My personal fave from your list: “Governance is its own personal reward….” Kind of smacks of Lord Acton’s Dictum, no?

Also interesting, the only time the word “service” pops up in the protracted list is in some sort of NHS mission statement.

OK, somebody slap me. I’m getting cynical again. I am NOT a cynic. I am NOT a cynic. ;-). Interesting post.
