Why has Afghan public opinion been steadily turning against NATO for the past few years? Because NATO airstrikes destroy the lives of civilians like the baby and father in this photo. According to Atia Abawi on Twitter:

His sister was killed another lost an arm. Family fled to Kabul. His dad lost one child by foreign troops and other saved by Americans.

The airstrikes: they’re never going to be 100% accurate and they’re just. not. worth. it.

Even Afghans who want coalition troops to stay make this point.
